Why attend?

Opportunity Exchange is a free Tradeshow and Conference intended to build lasting business relationships between Toyota’s Tier I suppliers and MBEs. We encourage all of our major suppliers to attend this event and to come ready to do business. This one day event provides Minority Owned Businesses the opportunity to network with Toyota’s direct suppliers.

We will continue with the same two day format as the 2008 Opportunity Exchange (details below).

 

 

Event Costs

Although there is no charge for this event, you must register in advance to attend. Space is limited and admission will be on a first come, first served basis.

  Toyota Way / Toyota Production System (TPS): (Part 1)
In this seminar you will be exposed to the DNA of Toyota, and learn how this guiding principle is the overall foundation for how we approach business in the automotive industry.

Tier 1 / MBE Panel: (Part 2)
You will hear about OE contract success stories. This seminar will focus on best practices for both Tier 1s and MBEs in creating successful and valuable relationships as a result of OE over the past 20 years.

Earvin “Magic” Johnson

Earvin Johnson, Jr. is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Magic Johnson Enterprises which was formed in 1987. Through strategic investments, partnerships and endorsements, Magic Johnson Enterprises (MJE) provides products and services that particularly focus on ethnically diverse urban communities.

Mr. Johnson has been at the forefront of urban development, raising the understanding of the importance of the multicultural consumer, and is directly responsible for tremendous growth across the country.

In In his New York Times Bestseller “32 Ways to be a Champion in Business,” Mr. Johnson offers detailed advice, real world expertise and the enthusiasm of a natural born entrepreneur who has pioneered unprecedented economic development in long neglected urban communities.

Mr. Johnson is also the first African-American to receive the prestigious Doctorate of Humane Letters Degree from Mount Sinai Medical School.

As Chairman and Founder of the Magic Johnson Foundation, Inc., Mr. Johnson is dedicated to developing programs and supporting services that address the educational, health and social needs of ethnically diverse, urban communities. Founded in 1991, the Magic Johnson Foundation (MJF) has become one of the most recognizable charitable organizations around the world.

Mr. Johnson is universally known for his 13 year career in the NBA; culminating to his induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Mr. Johnson is also Vice President and part owner of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Traveling I-75 Southbound (from Dayton)
Take I-75 South to the Fifth Street Exit (this is a left lane exit ramp). Fifth Street is a one-way street going East. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Elm Street. The Duke Energy Center is at the corner of Sixth and Elm Streets. There is a parking garage on the next corner.

Traveling I-75 Northbound (from Kentucky)
Take I-75 North. When crossing the bridge, get in the right lane. Take the Fifth Street Exit. Fifth Street is a one-way street going East. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Elm Street. The Duke Energy Center is at the corner of Sixth and Elm Streets. There is a parking garage on the next corner.

Traveling I-71 Southbound (from Columbus, Wilmington, etc.)
On I-71 South, take the Third Street Exit. Follow Third Street to Elm Street and turn right. The Duke Energy Center is at the corner of Sixth and Elm Streets. There is a parking garage on the next corner.

From the Greater Cincinnati International Airport
Take I-275 East to I-75 North. When crossing the bridge, get in the right lane. Take the Fifth Street Exit. Fifth Street is a one-way street going East. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Elm Street. The Duke Energy Center is at the corner of Sixth and Elm Streets. There is a parking garage on the next corner.

Traveling US Route 32 Westbound (from Eastern Ohio)
Take US Route 32 West to I-275 South. After crossing the river into Kentucky, take I-471 North to Downtown Cincinnati. Take the Sixth Street Exit. This is a one-way street westbound. The Duke Energy Center is at the corner of Sixth and Elm Streets. There is a parking garage on the next corner.

Traveling I-74 Eastbound (from Indianapolis)
Take I-74 East until it ends at I-75. Take I-75 South to the Fifth Street Exit (this is a left lane exit ramp). Fifth Street is a one-way street going East. At the third traffic light, turn left onto Elm Street. The Duke Energy Center is at the corner of Sixth and Elm Streets. There is a parking garage on the next corner.
